Teen Confirmation
Teen Confirmation is celebrated in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. Teens must attend Life Teen on Sunday nights or Catholic High School. In addition, confirmands are to attend the Confirmation classes, a retreat, and complete the sponsor and candidate project. Scroll down to view each of the Teen Confirmation Requirements’ details.

Sacrament of Confirmation
The date for the Sacrament of Confirmation is still to be determined by the Diocese.
Teen Confirmation Requirements
Each candidate must prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation at their home parish.
Baptism Certificate
A new Baptism certificate with notations (First Eucharist must be noted) is required and needs to be submitted no later than December 3, 2023. Disregard, if both Baptism and First Eucharist were at Star of the Sea.
Religious Education
Candidate must attend weekly parish High School Religious Education (Life Teen: registration and calendar are available on the parish website) or be enrolled at Catholic High School.
Confirmation Class
Candidate must attend all of the Confirmation classes, in addition to the Religious Education stated above. They are two separate registrations.
Retreat
Each candidate must attend a Confirmation Retreat.
Interview
Each candidate must schedule an interview with Fr. Steve.
Sponsors
Candidates must select a Confirmation sponsor who meets the following requirements:
- At least 16 years old
- Fully-initiated Catholic (having received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist)
- Not bound by any canonical penalty (e.g., a person who is married must be in a marriage recognized by the Church)
- Leading a life of faith befitting the role to be undertaken (e.g., regularly attending Mass on Sunday and living the faith)
- Not parents of the child
